Achieve your nonprofit mission

Are you a nonprofit organization?

If you haven’t reached your goal yet, here’s why…

If you are on the board of a nonprofit organization, you probably have a mission and goals.

The burning question is “How do you reach them?”

The answer is quite simple. All too many nonprofits do 1 of 2 things wrong.

1. They either are so passionate about their mission that they become engulfed by it and throw things like budgets, organizational marketing, and strategic planning out the window.

or

2. They operate with the mentality of “we’re a poor nonprofit, everyone should give us money so we can do this or that”

These are wrong.

Remember: Just because you’re a nonprofit does NOT mean people need to give you anything. A nonprofit is still a CORPORATION.

You need to work that way. Create a plan, execute it efficiently, market yourself, and realize that hard work is necessary to reach your goals.

So start operating like a business. You have to spend money to make money, be working on grants, building awareness, build relationships, and work with like-minded organizations, work hard to bring awareness to your efforts, programs, and achievements.

One way to do that is by partnering with a for-profit business with similar goals.

Another simple way is to have an effective, professionally crafted website that advocates for you and tells your story.
